    However, tunneling is the core business at Jay Dee.  To date, Jay Dee has completed over 637,000 linear feet (over 120 miles) of tunnels in a variety of soil conditions, including soft ground and hard rock.  Jay Dee is experienced in all methods of tunnel construction and is recognized as a pioneer in the jack pipe tunneling method.  The firm maintains a large stock of tunneling equipment, including an extensive inventory of tunnel boring machines.

    With offices in Livonia and Detroit, Michigan, Jay Dee maintains a well-equipped shop facility for the development and maintenance of its equipment.  Here, the company performs most of the repairs and rebuilding of its tunnel boring machines.  It also has the capability to fabricate specialized equipment required for certain projects.
